History
Lords was formed in 2008 by directors David Russell and Roy Chisnall. Their
combined experience includes; property developing, international
developments and markets, estate agency sales, residential lettings, estate
agency marketing and refurbishments. Together they formed Lords property
with the aim of offering an exceptional service in a range of property areas
with straight forward advice and a hopefully refreshingly honest approach.
Roy and David have both worked on international charity projects, including
working with street kids in Mexico to building houses in South African
townships. (See web links for more details). Lords is a commercial business
that regularly supports both domestic and international work both
financially and with time investment to make a difference to people who are
in very disadvantaged situations.
By choosing Lords you will not only get a dedicated and professional service
by experienced professionals in their field, but you'll know that we are an
ethical estate agent whose faith leads to actions that has helped changed
the lives for the less privileged.
Directors - A bit about us
David Russell
David is married to Becky and has two lovely daughters. He grew up in
Bishop's Stortford. He has been working in the property field for a number
of years, in a personal capacity both property developing and international
land purchasing and working for local estate agents before launching Lords.
David is a keen golfer, skier, tennis player and reluctant runner (!!), and
enjoys any adventure sport. He also loves good wine, good food and
travelling.
Roy Chisnall
Roy is married to Sarah and lives in Little Hallingbury with their young son
Henry. Roy comes from a property background, being the son of a chartered
surveyor and working in his father's estate agents when he was young. He
moved on to start his own office design company in 1985, which involved re
designing office interiors for the property industry. In 1995 he started
Treehouse Properties a company involved in buying property, renovating it
and renting them to the Local Authority from a central portfolio. Treehouse
properties have also undertaken design and renovation work on numerous
properties and clients own personal properties.
Roy's major interests are snowboarding, good food and discovering locations
in the world that are off the beaten track. He is also a terrible golfer,
unlike David... but enjoys it anyway. He is also a keen member of Community
Church in Bishops Stortford and is involved in various charities around the
planet, including The Desmond TuTu Community build, which speed builds brick
houses in a week for the needy in the Townships of South Africa!!
If there was one goal for Lords it would be to prove that not all estate
agents are greedy and self centred....
Lords In Action - The Charitable Side To Lords
At Lords both the directors have a true heart for the needy and oppressed
and believe that we can make a difference to peoples lives by acting un
selfishly.
In early September Roy set off to the townships of South Africa with the
global charity Habitat For Humanity. The mission was to construct a brick
built house with a tiled roof with windows and doors in only 5 days. The 12
strong team had their work cut out when torrential rain fell on day one of
the build, leaving only four days to complete the task. The team performed
exceptionally well in the short time with the house being successfully
completed and handed over to the new owners family in an emotional ceremony.
Roy was able to raise over £6,000.00 from various generous clients and
friends to fund the house, and make a real difference to the new family who
will move in shortly.
Next year Roy is hoping to be part of the build again, perhaps joining a
team in India . or maybe something closer to home ! .. who knows yet ..
